Send that thread to the Eurocrats with thier Europeon Clean Rivers Water Directive to be complied by
Britain by 2027 under the threat of huge fines, seeing this its a pity its not enforce today.Ive been a huge critic of the Eurocrats over the years but in this issue i think they have got it right.

Emily has scheduled a further job to try to track down the source of the mis-connections which are actually running in to the pipe. It will then be up to the home owners to fix their foul drains. (I suspect that the culprits will quickly become apparent when the flap-valve has been fixed as they will complain that their drains are backing up....)

can we super glue it closed Laughing

Spoke too soon, it is still chuffing stuff out and no evidence of any work having been done.

2 weeks of draw-off left to fix it, I am on to them.

Update: Just learned that Thames water came down my road last week putting dye down the drains at all the houses because "there is sewage going in to the river and we think it is someone in this road."
Don't think it's mine, I'll be devastated if it is!
Glad that they are on to it though.

Hi Ed
I have been back to the drain today with the contractor Cappagh, who are
going to put the flap back for us. They are going to get a gang in by the
end of this week to remove the rusted fittings that are there, new fittings
will then be machined and fitted so that the flap can be re-hung. The flap
will also be cleaned up in the meantime.

I will be ringing my contact from Cappagh next Tuesday to find out how
everything is going and will report back then. I am also following up
about the misconnections.

Kind regards
