Article Competition for the next edition of ECHOES

First off we would like to apologise to Rob “Thomo” Thompson, as his was the only entry before the last competition deadline! Rob also won it a few issues back, and his latest piece has been slung back in the mix for the next edition of Echoes, sorry Rob! We also had a late entry from Stuart Taggart, and rest assured Stuart, your piece is also in the running for the next issue as well.

Well, naturally we would like to offer the angling community the opportunity to put pen to paper to add to the two excellent pieces that we already have in the running and I would strongly advocate thinking a little outside the box if you wish to submit an entry to the next competition, as the competition is already hot, and the bar has been set fairly high by the two fellows mentioned! Tell us about the mystery and wonder of the carp, what is it about carping that inspires you to get out there and fish through some of the most treacherous weather ‘ever’, or even to commit yourself to months of hardship in pursuit of that elusive take!

As has now become standard, there will be two competitions that will run alongside each other, one for 18’s and under and one for adults.

The prizes for the next round of articles are, as yet, undecided (apologies), and the criteria for entry are fairly simple;

Your article must contain no more than 1500 words.

Your article should under no circumstances undermine the ethic of ECHO.

Your article should be exactly that, your article. Please do not present an article on somebody else's behalf.

Your entry article should be received by E-Mail (contact details below) no later than December 1st 2010.

In addition it would be in best keeping if you were prepared to supply quality images – with the largest possible size resolution - to furnish your entry if it were chosen as one of the winning ones.

For anyone wishing to submit an article for this competition, or, if you would like further information, please send your article or enquiries to the following E-Mail address; richardcrimp@hotmail.co.uk

I would like to take this early opportunity to thank you for your entry submissions and I would also like to thank all of you for supporting ECHO in these challenging times.

Thank you and the best of luck!

Richard

We've extended the deadline for the Juniors competition till the 1st of January, so if you are under 18, or know of a youngster that could write an article to enter in the comp, don't delay and encourage them to put pen to paper please.

Thanks,

Richard Cool
