Very true mate, as we discussed.

I know that the amount of groundwater flooding has led to unprecedented amounts of water going through the all the sewage works, so it is to be expected. Even with huge upgrades the amount of rain is just incredible.

But... does that mean they underestimated how big the extension to Mogden needed to be, these are 1-100 year floods, 2 years running, and now twice in a month. Maybe what it will do is any further expansion of STW will take this into account.

Thames Waters infrastructure fit for purpose? No, no and no. Massive underinvestment since privatisation means they are now constantly trying to fix the breaks, rather than investing in the first place and moving forward.

Channel 4 8pm on Monday, hopefully they will get a kick in.

Good idea; my guess for 2014 is:
Mogden - 45, Hammersmith - 60.

And let's not forget the other (non) treatment plants dumping millions tonnes of raw sewage into our beloved river - Long Reach, Riverside, Beckton and Crossness.

Oh....and the dozens of pipes dumping sewage into the non-tidal Thames - Henley, Oxford all the way down to Kingston.

Too busy paying foreign shareholders rather than doing what they're supposed to.

2 notifications from Mogden within 4 minutes of each other this afternoon,
I think that counts as just one discharge and butterfingers on the email.
12-14 to Hammersmith.
