Message from Joe:-

It’s time to get the dyno rod TAC team out to restart the eels at Molesey – I sincerely hope you chaps are up for another season and that we can get a date for our traditional Saturday morning of trap maintenance and  cup of tea at the lock and, of course, the intense training course and signing of the risk assessment

Please can you let me know dates that you can do it and I’ll get it in the diary- Saturday 29th April any good?

All best, Joe

Sadly, my eel counting days are over. After living in the area for the past 40+ years I am moving back to my roots in north Notts.

The TAC is a wonderful organisation run by some excellent people and it's been a pleasure meeting, working and fishing with them over the years. I intend staying on the forum as it will be good to hear what's happening with the various projects.

Cheers chaps,

Neil it's been a pleasure, thank you for all your help and support.

You were there on the very first pike day when I discovered the TAC. I'm still not really a pike fisherman but your demonstrations were something very memorable and invaluable, a part of that something that 'hooked' me in to getting involved with TAC.

I see on facebook that your new place virtually backs on to the river Maun, I hope it is brimming full with fish and many tight lines for the future. You will be missed down here, the Nottingham Anglers Association (or whomever) will surely benefit.

Thanks Ed, yes that pike day was great fun despite all of the blood that was shed thanks to the pike resting up between shows Very Happy

I haven't had time to investigate the Maun yet, there isn't much organised fishing on it but I have heard a couple of stories of surprisingly large brownies from both the Maun and the Medan, the other local small river. I'll have plenty of close season time to explore the possibilities.

Cheers,

Echo what Ed said mate, the amount of help, support and involvement you have had with the TAC will always be remembered. From that first pike day, events, Eels, those evenings we did and lending the kit to get us started, all brilliant.

Good luck with your move Smile

Thanks Dave, I was happy to help but what I contributed was tiny compared to what you, Ed and others have done.

I regret I can't, they need my delicious dancing skills and it was booked before I said OK for the eel-ing extravaganza.
