Did anyone know this chap? RIP.

http://www.richmondandtwickenhamtimes.co.uk/news/11879871.Fisherman_and_Twickenham_riverside_campaigner_dies__aged_77/?ref=mr

A keen fisherman who campaigned on behalf of Twickenham’s riverside died on March 20, aged 77.

Tom Hautot, who ran a stall in Water Lane, died in St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington after being taken ill while fishing at Eel Pie Island.

Mr Hautot played an important part in a campaign that helped shape the future of Twickenham’s riverside and was an ex-motorcyclist, enthusiastic swimmer and a "very practical man".

His close friend, Rick Cummings, said: "Tom was the loveliest man you could ever meet. He was like everyone’s granddad.

"He was loved by everyone and will be very sorely missed."

Mr Hautot’s friend, Doug Garrett, of Richmond Yacht Club said: "A great friend to many and an enthusiastic fisherman. It is good to know that Tom spent his last afternoon before becoming ill doing what he loved - fishing by the bridge to the island.

"He will be missed by many."

Notices about Mr Hautot’s funeral will be posted on richmondyachtclub.co.uk and by the bridge to Eel Pie Island.

aka Tom Tangle. He also caught that baby Sturgeon from the tidal a while back (pic was in the Anglers Mail).
Met him on the bank a while back, very nice guy and knowledgeable.
Saw him fishing just a few weeks ago, he didn't seem in the best of health.
