PostSubject: Is this treated or non treated pollution and it it legal?   Thu Jul 03, 2014 3:44 pm

Good afternoon all, I took my small boat out for a spot of fishing last evening, at Weybridge upstream from the ferry crossing, coordinates, 51 22 46 03 N - 0 27 38 86 W. this puts me by a small wier outlet from the Wey canal lock and river,
right next to a canoe club house,I had been looking at the spot for a while and thought I might find one or two nice fish in the fast moving water,Alas I was wrong (biteless) after upping the anchor I noticed my hands ,now the colour brown s--t,Gross! when I got the boat back to the jetty and out of the water,on the trailer it too was covered in a brown film,So I am now asking the question is this treated sewerage or are they getting away with more than they should here,Can anyone answer this as I would also like to know, I did look on Google earth and there is a sewer works near Weybridge next to an old race car circuit,

Many Thanks
Mike Heath

Hi Mike

Thanks for posting this up, was there any smell around, sounds pretty grim. Let me have a look on the map and see whats there. What I would definitely do is report it to the EA and mentioned the TAC when you do. 0800 807060

Yes is the Thames Water works nearby so very likely is coming out of a sewage overflow and not consented
