 Dock for Queen's boat at Twickenham

Richmond council are proposing to build a dry dock and boat house on the semi-tidal near Orleans House for the Queen's rowing boat Gloriana. There is a design allegedly by Lord Foster (which will no doubt be hugely expensive).
This has kicked off a massive discussion on the Twickerati local website, over 230 comments to date, makes this forum look like a graveyard!

(Personally I reckon they could simply repair the lock gates at Young Mariners and stick it in there, but what do I know?!)

personally i think,that the old cow should scrap it and give the proceeds to the needy of this great country.
