PostSubject: PLA Tidal tree work   Tue Jan 17, 2012 2:38 am

Just for your info and any comments.

Received an email from Tanya Houston, ex EA fisheries and now works for the PLA. Very nice to get this sent over so posting it up for your info.

Cheers

Hi Dave

Below is a summary of the tree works, in order that you are able to let your members know.

Whilst the PLA's main emphasis on tree management during this winter has been to trees above Richmond Lock highlighted by the Harbour Master as requiring works to prevent a navigational hazard and also at Olivers Ait in line with a report provided by the Authority's retained consultants Bartlett's, we do intend to undertake works in accordance with the recommendations within the adopted Tree and Vegetation Management Plan between Beverley Brook and South Bank SC.

It is intended that these works are commenced on or about Monday 6 February and, in line with previous years, will be preceded by an environmental walkover inspection.

The extent of the proposed works (which I would confirm will include nothing to the Native Black Poplars) is not substantial and we expect that they will be completed within five working days. No towpath closures are required although, as in previous years, signs indicating that work will be undertaken will be displayed in the vicinity.

Please contact me if you have any questions.
