I will try and meet you there on Wednesday to give a hand .
Would it be possible to saw the logs into short pieces so the 'beavers' can't make bridges out of them? Laughing

went to island with son and one of his mates, had a look around found this

all the water was going down the weirs, plus, at that time for some reason the water leval had droped, so no or very little water was getting into the channel so the leval droped and some of the gravel was above water level,

this was at 1300hrs

1600hrs when we lefted, water was flowing into channel and we did see some some fish init, around 4" long.

on a lighter note, we fished the far R/H 2 person platform and got lots and lots of siver bream, biggist around 9" long

ps

also found a bow saw, gave to to lock keeper to look after

I was above and below Penton Hook late this afternoon, river levels looked normal on the main river and pushing thru at a nice pace.

all river fry know to get in gaps between the stones and often the bottom is so different from the upper layers. on monday i was releasing fish i caught in a sheltered part out of the main flow and every fish was head down straight to the bottom not going along at all.

Have been in contact with the EA and Thames w.

The lower level is caused by the speed at the end of a spate/ flood and to do with the sheer velocity it is going through the weirs.

It's not new as was noted at the design stage of the channel 10 odd years ago so already known. It doesnt run dry just exposed some gravel and as you say Andy the fish are very resourceful. Levels recover quite quickly, hopefully no harm done.

WHILL i WAZ WATCHING cheryl cole jumping around on tv this afternoon, I got struck by a bolt of lighting out of the blue and had a dam good idea, the fishing platforms on P/H should be numbered, so that when some one asked were is a good place to fish, you can say platform number "X" is fishing well at the moment. Number "1" being the first one on the left as you walk onto the island then go round clock wise, there are 6 all together
