| Following our latest communication with the Environment Agencies Enforcement Department, a date is to be agreed shortly for an evening meeting. The meeting will enable the E.A. to issue guidelines to our members who wish to become River Guardians.
In the meantime we have been asked to post our observations on our forum. Once a week these details will be forwarded to the Enforcement team by TAC admin.
Information is king, so if you see someone tipping their grass cuttings into the river, or if you see nothing on your riverside stroll, post it on the forum.
Its good to know the trouble free areas as well as the ones to keep our eyes on.
If you see any incident which warrants immediate action then you should call the Environment Agency Hotline on 0800 80 70 60.
Take a picture on your phone, and report what you have seen and where. You will be given an incident number, if not ask for one. Please also mention you are a Thames Anglers Conservancy member.
What must be reported:
* damage or danger to the natural environment * pollution to water or land * poaching or illegal fishing * fish in distress or dead fish * watercourse blocked by vehicle or fallen tree causing risk of flooding * illegal dumping of hazardous waste or large amounts of industrial waste * Illegal abstraction from watercourses * unusual drop in riverflow * collapsed or badly damaged river or canal banks
Please post a report of what you see on the forum, but do call them first as as soon as you can
